Visitors, welcome!

We represent professional botanists, plant scientists, educators, students and amateur plant science enthusiasts from around the world. Our primary purpose is to promote botany, the field of basic science dealing with the study and inquiry into the form, function, development, diversity, reproduction, evolution, and uses of plants and their interactions within the biosphere.

Educators/Students, explore career options in the plant sciences through the Careers in Botany section and visit “BOTANY” - science from the students' perspective to find out more about the path to becoming a scientist. Experience a small sampling of the wonders within the plant world; visit our plant image collection, including the carnivorous and parasitic plant pages.
